help on byte swap with gnu fortran

Dear all
 i have a fortran code that works with vis5d and compiles with gnu fortran
 My problem is that i want to read in binary files that have been
byteswapped
 in pgfortran there is an option -byteswapio to do that
 What about gnu fortran?
 Do you have an idea on how to overcome this problem?

 I would really appreciate any help
