Erik and I are trying to do as much as we can to make it in time.  I 
shot a hole in my foot and lost two weeks with that derived type 
association business.  I am trying to find the bounds of/fixes for one 
nasty and a regression that has creapt in.  I must say, though, that I 
am heavily occupied with daytime work too....

We will see.  Fortunately, the patch is fairly well insulated from the 
rest of gfortran; if you do not try allocatable components, nothing 
"bad" can happen!
