Yes, cleanup-modules is exactly what I was hoping for.  Thanks!

I think cleanup-files is not longer needed.  I already fixed all the
places where oddball files were left around at the start of this
thread.  Future problems of this nature can be fixed similarly without
any dejagnu hackery.
