problem with allocate

Dear all,

Attached is a small program that I compiled and ran on a 32 bit linux 
machine using gfortran 4.1
The allocation should fail since the array is too large. However, the 
code says that the allocation was ok. The ifort compiler handles this 
correctly.

Is this a known problem? If so, is there a patch for this problem?
