I don't think these sorts of patches are appropriate for 4.1,
they are merely cleanups.  Also we're nearing the 4.1.0 release,
so patches that are not (regression) bugfixes should not go to
the branch (at least) at the moment.

Of course this is my personal opinion - your milage may vary.
