patch for transfer.c

Jerry,
   The patch you proposed to eliminate the warnings in transfer.c works
fine here on MacOS X and eliminates the warnings I was seeing during
the -m64 built. Unfortunately I can't properly test for regressions
in 64-bit mode because Apple's libgcc doesn't provide the ___divti3 and
___umodti3 symbols needed by libgfortran when built with -m64...

so we will need someone on another 64-bit target to test for regressions
until Apple fixes there libgcc in gcc trunk.
