Unless somebody else has made that start, that is pretty much it.  You 
should look to see what is covered by the NIST testsuite, which gfortran 
curently compiles and runs correctly.  I have never checked to see but I 
suppose that NIST follows the F77 standard chapter by chapter?

Your would be doing everybody a big favor if you were to write testcases 
that fill that niche between NIST and the gfortran testsuite.
