I think we should try to commit easy fixes to 4.0 when they're easy to 
do, until 4.1.0 is released, and after that let it go (being a x.0 
branch, distros will not keep it too long). On the contrary, 4.1 and 
mainline should be kept in sync as long as possible, even if that means 
non-trivial efforts. That is, commiting everything to 4.1 unless it 
would not be approved because it touches other parts of the compiler 
(like GOMP).
