Dear gfortran developers,

I would like to submit a bug in the gfortran compiler.
I'm using: GNU Fortran 95 (GCC 4.1.0 20050607 (experimental))

The following short subroutine does not compile:

subroutine pippo
  implicit none
  interface iotk_tolower
    function iotk_tolower_x(str)
      implicit none
      character(len=*), intent(in) :: str
      character(len=len(str))      :: iotk_tolower_x
    end function
  end interface
  write(*,*) iotk_tolower("CHARACTER")
end subroutine pippo

and returns an error:

$ gfortran -c bug1.f90
bug1.f90: In function 'pippo':
bug1.f90:12: internal compiler error: in gfc_conv_function_call, at fortran/trans-expr.c:1104
Please submit a full bug report,

Thank you very much for your work.

Giovanni
