[PING] fix environ.c on darwin /PR17748

Hi,
I attached another patch for the bug, could someone please review/apply it.

To review the problem:
Because libgfortran has undefined referneces to _environ on darwin, it is 
not possible to link a fortran library without adding the -undefined 
suppress flags on darwin. This is a bad thing, and a regression from g77.
