Bibliographic records of Algol 68

I spent part of the weekend collecting from our extensive archives
information about the history of Algol 68 into two new bibliographies
released today:

	https://www.math.utah.edu/pub/tex/bib/algol-bulletin.bib

As always in our archives at Utah, you can change the final ".bib" to
".html" if you prefer a Web browser view with live hyperlinks.  The
BibTeX ".bib" file is the definitive source, and the companion "*.ltx"
LaTeX files demonstrate that the entries can be successfully typeset.

The first bibliography has entries for the Algol 68 language, some of
which are about its predecessors and origins going back to 1959.

I have not yet searched library catalogs for additional books about
the language (14 books are currently recorded), but a check today with
the US Library of Congress catalog found 38 books with Algol 68 their
titles, so there will certainly be additions to algol68.bib.

For about two years, I have had a copy of PDF files for past issues of
the Algol Bulletin, but for reasons discussed in the comment preamble
of algol-bulletin.bib, I have not been able to effectively mine those
PDF files to create a complete journal bibliography.

Our existing archives held 39 references to the journal, and my
weekend searches turned up more, so there are now 476 entries in that
file.  That is by no means complete coverage, because the Algol
Bulletin has many short communications that are unlikely to have
received direct citations by articles in other sources, and thus,
might already be in a form for which rough BibTeX entries could be
created from Web data.

I hope that some algol68 list readers may find the bibliographies
useful.  The algol68.bib contains a 250-line comment preamble that
describes something of the project, and for readers unfamiliar with
the Algol language family, offers a list of Algol features that have
been adopted, or have influenced, later programming languages.

Comments and corrections are hereby solicited, and welcomed, from list
readers, and may be incorporated in future versions of these files.

Those bibliographies strive for complete coverage of the works of
their authors, and also cover publications by others about them and
their works.  For many of them, however, it has not been possible to
find copies of the authors' own curriculum vitae to check against.
Contributed chapters in books, letter correspondence, public talks,
and technical reports, frequently fail to be recorded in library
catalogs.  Nevertheless, those "*.bib" files provide publication
records that have been recorded over decades of bibliographic work,
and they still get occasional updates.
