Design kool-aid (tm?)

Good evening everyone,

Refreshing my memory on GRASP design principles I also remembered the
business of the polymorphism principle, which basically indicates that
overloading (eg Algol 68 operators) is great, but unions (requiring
case-conformity or similar to figure out the type) is bad.

Now that is of course a bald claim, but given that I have had my head in
Java and similar for so many years, it explains why I'd be willing to give
up the advantages of non-overloaded procs for the advantages of overloaded
procs...
