You have build GCC from source. On GNU/Linux, it's pretty easy.

E.g., if you're on Debian/Ubuntu, you have to install the following packages:

  - build-essential
  - libmpfr-dev
  - libgmp-dev
  - libmpc-dev

Then you can clone the git repo (git clone git://gcc.gnu.org/git/gcc.git), and
then inside that diretory:

  mkdir build-gcc
  cd build-gcc
  ../configure --prefix=$HOME/algol68-gcc --enable-languages=c,c++,algol68 --enable-checking=release --disable-multilib
  make -j 16
  make install

You can replace 16 with number of your machine's core (minus, e.g., 4 to keep
some room for other programs).

Now you can add $HOME/algol68-gcc/bin to your $PATH:

  export PATH=$HOME/algol68-gcc/bin:$PATH

And voilà! You have ga68!

To test the compiler you can write this program in a file called hello.a68:

  begin
    puts ("Hello world from GNU Algol 68!'n")
  end

And run the following command to compile it:

  ga68 -o hello hello.a68

And you can run your executable like this:

  ./hello

which should print "Hello world from GNU Algol 68!" on the console.
