libstdc++ and autotools

Just confirming: I'm assuming that libstdc++ should be using the current
versions of autotools to regenerate files. At the moment, this means:

automake: 1.7.8
autoconf: 2.57

Since Phil did the heroic update to the current versions of these tools
mid-summer, it seems to me that the rest of us should make an effort to
keep things current. Sitting on specific versions of these tools for
two, three years again is a mistake IMHO.

Am I correct here, or are we all using different tools again?

Curious,
benjamin
