I'm seeing it on all my platforms: i686-pc-linux-gnu, sparc-sun-solaris2.6,
sparc-sun-solaris2.8 and i386-unknown-freebsd4.1 for different CVS trees.
Now, the interesting thing is that apparently a manual build works fine,
though the script I've been using (for years) really is most trivial and
never caused any problems before.
I'm investigating...
