I understand that this may appear strict.  However, this is not our
call, but guidelines we got from the FSF which I believe apply to
all web sites in the gnu.org domain.

Thanks for looking into the details of those items listed right now!

It seems we should not have linked to some of these to begin with;
this is not releated to the move to the Wiki, but a real issue we
would have needed to address either way.

According to my understanding this would work.

For example, for our announcements on the GCC homepage and the news
page, we do acknowledge the valuable contributions Apple, IBM, Novell,
and Red Hat (in alphabetical order) have been making, but do not link
to their home or product pages.
