I was erroneously under the impression that there would be ACL stuff preventing
me from checking stuff into 3.4. BTW: I'm confused as to the branch names.
Should I be getting gcc-3_4-branchpoint or gcc-3_4-branch?

Michael also offered to check this in. I don't have a 3.4 tree on my machine
right now or I would check this in too. If you're not rushed for time, I can
check this in in a couple of days.
Michael: Have you looked at this yet? It's the companion patch for
DatagramChannels and I think it should go into 3.4 too:
