Well, we got build failures on all our gcc 4.3 build machines at AdaCore,
using e.g. 3.4.4 or 3.4.6 as the bootstrap compiler. We never use 4.0 as the
bootstrap compiler, so your proposed patch won't be sufficient, and the issue
seems broader than what you described.
