There are two issues:
(1) it's not marked as a 4.1 regression, let alone a regression from
4.1.x. Did this test case work with older versions of GCC?
(2) Richard Earnshaw objected to applying the patch to 4.1 because it
requires a newer GAS. Paul's counter that the newer GAS is only needed
if your compiler would otherwise crash seems persuasive to me, if true,
but I'd certainly want Richard to be comfortable with the change.
