I'd love to know, too. I gather that this stuff is disabled unless you
configure with --enable-symvers=gnu-versioned-namespaces
Presumably this won't be on by default in gcc-4.2, since no ABI
breakage was planned for that release, but perhaps it'll
be on by default in gcc-4.3 (along with libstdc++-v7 and non-COW strings
and all that stl-ABI-changing goodness that makes my favorite app run
several percent faster)?
