Probably appropriate. However, 3.5.0 is also a .0 number, of another sort....

I think for marketing reasons we should not call the next version 4.0.0 unless it defintely features substantial improvement (in stability, performance, or whatever) from the end-user POV. We don't want to saddle the 4.0 series with a bad name.
