FAQ entry for GCC and EGCS relationship

Hi,

IMHO the answer to the FAQ (*is it* a FAQ any
more?) "What is the relationship between GCC and EGCS?"
at:

http://gcc.gnu.org/faq.html#gcc

can do with a link to this EGCS announcement:

http://gcc.gnu.org/news/announcement.html

(probably in the second paragraph of the answer).

The announcement provides more insight into the
reasons behind the creation of EGCS.

Similarly, the third paragraph could with a link to
this announcement by RMS confirming the merging of
the EGCS and GCC projects:

http://lwn.net/1999/0429/a/gcc.html

(or perhaps a link to this message from the "official"
archive of this list - wherever that is)

This comment from Joe Buck on Slashdot provides
more insight into this and also explains why
the original message on gcc-announce isn't there
anymore:

http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=16988&cid=1925069

I was also curious about the early history of GCC
and could find only this little piece by RMS
(see "The first steps"):

http://www.gnu.org/gnu/thegnuproject.html

Anyone have better and more detailed information
on GCC history?

Ranjit.
