I proposed to accept such a contribution if it generated Fortran code.
This doesn't have the obvious disadvantage that one could bypass the
GPL, using gcc with proprietary backends, by invoking g77's ability to
process arbitrarily long input lines - and having the backend just
generate one long output line.
