Well, bzip2 is pretty common now, and as you say it's available from the same
ftp sites. But, if you really want binutils in .gz form, you can get it from
ftp.gnu.org and mirrors thereof. It seemed like a waste of time and bits to
put both formats on sources.redhat.com.
