I can't comment on the technical end of things, but every time this
comes up I stare at -taso and I can not figure out what it stands for
or how it could possibly relate to the width of pointers. I think
there should be a less obscure name for the option,
e.g. -msmall-address-space or -m32bit-pointers. (And what *does* taso
mean?)
