I wanted to clarify the difference between GCC behavior on Solaris
versus Linux and the ABI.
Yes it is a bug and bugs happen. It is unfortunate that thishung
around for five years.
What we need to do is to separate SVR4 and eABI support from Linux
support. Other compilers implement SVR4 and eabI and GCC is incompatible
with those. We need to wait to bring the Linux support in line with SVR4
ABI until there is an opportunity for backward compatibility breakage.
