To some of us, this is a well-known problem. It is a bug in purify,
which fails to understand the g++ exception handling mechanism. If you
ask Rational, they will tell you that they don't support
egcs. Regardless, it might help complaining to them. It also might
help trying gcc 2.95, because Rational is more likely to support
'official' GNU releases.
