Build of gcc-2.95.2 on SCO Openserver 5.0.4

I installed gcc-2.95.2 on a Pentium machine running OS5.0.4 with TLS706
installed. It was config.guessed as
i586-pc-sco3.2v5.0.4
I configured with --enable-languages=c++, java
The installation process ran without problems. gcc and g++ work fine; gcj
does not:
$ gcj -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-sco3.2v5.0.4/2.95.2/specs
Reading specs from libgcj.spec
gcj: libgcj.spec: No such file or directory
