Naw, hardly anybody uses it.

Seriously, keywords like i386, i486, i586, i686, Pentium, PentiumPro,
PentiumII, and PentiumIII, with various manglings for case, are
often used in place of "intel platform". That's partly because Intel
also has *other* platforms not related directly to PCs, like the old
860 and newer 960, and the forthcoming Merced.
