Ah, but, in *this* case, the thread has substantial value to the GCC
team. We can point to it as an example of apparent bugginess in
GCC, Linux, whatever, that turns out to indeed be a bug in user code
that, somehow, wasn't found in many previous deployments.
That's due to the fact that you got back to us with your discovery,
which I consider a very decent thing to do. Thanks!
