Dear All,
Apologies if this question is simplistic (or off-topic). I'm trying to
compile some code (not mine) which typically gives the following error:
/var/tmp/ccx5FTas.s: Assembler messages:
/var/tmp/ccx5FTas.s: 12847: Error: Branch out of range
...
last line repeated many times.
...
I've never come across this error before, can anybody tell me what problems I
should be looking for in the code? Or could it be an error because of
miscompilation of as/egcs? I'd be very grateful for any pointers.
Using:
egcs1.1.1 (compilation flags -g -fPIC -mcpu=r4000 -mips2)
as from binutils2.9.1
SGI Indigo with IRIX5.3
Thanks
Peter Johnston
