Mostly gperf. libg++ version 2.7.2.8, of which gperf
is a part, has never worked on the Alpha.
The libstdc++ from EGCS does work -- at least with RH4.2,
I just finished installing 5.0 myself, so we'll see how
that goes in a bit -- but even after that's built you'd
have to recompile gperf to use the new library.
Your best bet in the short term is to get cperf from prep,
and install that, since then it won't be relying on c++.
