Unfortunately, the .x mechanism only works for some specific test
frameworks.  If I recall, it works for c-torture and f-torture but not
for any of the C++ fixtures or something annoying like that.

I would have used it if I had it.

In light of the silence from dejagnu team, I'm wondering if we would
have been better off to have added the .x plumbing to testsuite/lib/*.exp 
for reason "b" above.
