These:

+#if !defined (_GLIBCXX_FULLY_DYNAMIC_STRING) || (_GLIBCXX_FULLY_DYNAMIC_STRING == 0)


can be simplified to just:


+#if _GLIBCXX_FULLY_DYNAMIC_STRING == 0


Ok with those changes and a proper ChangeLog entry, of course.
