I figured that the cover class stuff is probably more important.My temptation is to place priority on the double-word stuff& speedups to reduce the amount of divergence we're dealing with, then sort through the issues the removal of cover classes introduces.

I can probably deal with the breakage if it goes in first.If you're willing, that's fine with me.
It would be good to have a review of the existing patch though, with aI'm looking at it right now. I haven't gotten to the meat of the patch as I'm still pruning out the stuff that's obviously correct.
yes/no answer, before I spend a few days updating it to the new code.
