I need this integer anyway so I can update it as inlining proceeds (it
always identifies the relevant parameter in the function the noe is
inlined to).

This field is initialised to -1 meaning this is not a call to
parameter (though if you leave it like that it will hit an assert now
so that we have some extra testing but otherwise it is easy to ignore
such edges).

No, it doesn't, it just made the edge duplication hook a bit more
straightforward.  I have replaced it with a bitmap
(iinlining_processed_edges).

Well, I just wanted to see that something was indeed there.  But sure,
I can add whatever dumping you would like.

No.  Actually a subsequnt patch of mine turned this into an assert.
