Hi, 

I'd like to backport this patch 
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2009-10/msg00618.html to the 4.4 branch where this problem was originally reported.

Testing on cross to arm-none-eabi on qemu for cortex-a8 , neon and softfp floating point. Ok to commit if no regressions ?
