I am  not sure to what  extent this is  relevant but when I  wanted to
look into  these regressions again, I have  mistakenly bootstrapped and
regression  tested two  pristine, unpatched  and untouched  pretty ipa
branches (both  revision 144880)  and there was  one (run  time) ACATS
test which failed on one but succeeded on the other: c940005

The machine does not seem to have any hardware problems.  After all,
both testsuites were run after bootstrap...

Well, I'll bootstrap and test patched tree and see what happens
tomorrow.
