Ok for mainline and 4.3.
Andrew raised the issue about OImode. I don't think we need to worry
about that in this patch. As you pointed out, the SPU backend isn't
clear as to whether it supports it or not.
We never intentionally meant to support OImode. If Andrew or anyone
else thinks it is important to either disable or enable it cleanly, a
separate patch can be created.
