Great, thanks a lot Dave! I was going to approve/apply this yesterday,
when I saw that Gaby apparently already committed a variation of your
changes (though I did not see any e-mail on that).

Given Gaby's ongoing participation on the mailing lists, I think we
can rule out a hippo-induced accidents. ;-)
I now went through the release checklist, and basically the web pages
seem to be okay now. In fact, I found that already two months ago Gaby
did update some pages like releases.html, just nothing related to the
real announcement as such.
I just applied the following two patches, to complete things and sync
on one date for the release on all pages -- March 6th.
