Mathematical functions often come in three flavours:
double, float, long double for floating-point functions
and int, long, long long for integer functions.
This results in code like:
case BUILT_IN_SQRT:
case BUILT_IN_SQRTF:
case BUILT_IN_SQRTL:
The following patch introduces two new macros
#define CASE_FLT_FN(FN) case FN: case FN##F: case FN##L
#define CASE_INT_FN(FN) case FN: case FN##L: case FN##LL
in builtins.def so that the above can be written as:
CASE_FLT_FN (BUILT_IN_SQRT):
This shaves off about 330 lines of code in builtins.c and fold-const.c
and improves readability of long lists of similar case labels.
The patch is long but mostly mechanical.
I omitted the last colon (:) from the macros so that one has to write
CASE_FLT_FN (BUILT_IN_FN):
instead of just
CASE_FLT_FN (BUILT_IN_FN)
since the former looks more like a case label than the latter.
Using the wrong macro (i.e. CASE_FLT_FN instead of CASE_INT_FN or
the other way round) should trigger an error message, since one
builtin will not exist (either with the suffix "F" or "LL").
I could have integrated the prefix BUILT_IN_ into the macro, too,
but then one couldn't grep for BUILT_IN_SQRT anymore.
Bootstrapped and regtested on i686-pc-linux-gnu.
