No, adding dye is dyeing.

The British melting pot. That's what happens when you have lots of  
different immigrants^Winvaders, and then become a superpower and have lots  
of subjects come live where the power is - the language goes all to hell.

Classic design by committee.

Also when you forget that the spelling is supposed to reflect the  
pronunciation and vice versa, since you're not using hieroglyphics or  
Chinese "characters".
