The last version passes a testsuite run in a GCC/GDB combined tree on 
i686-pc-linux-gnu with no regressions, which covers dwarf2.  (Though I 
suspect that GDB testsuite coverage of type refinements, let alone those 
in nested scopes, is minimal if there is any at all.)  There would have 
been more such tests and earlier if the simulator targets I listed 
previously as having attempted had worked with an unmodified tree.
