I am able to bootstrap again after reversing the last patch from my code
base:
2004-01-09 Sebastian Pop <s.pop@laposte.net>
(so the other patches I listed have nothing to do with it.)

Thanks. For some reason I can't build the lno branch with this last patch
on my platform (I tried on 3 different machines -
powerpc-apple-darwin7.0.0, powerpc-apple-darwin6.8 and
powerpc-apple-darwin6.4).
