Well, I tried, and I tried, but I can't get no ... vectorization:


$ cat vector.f95
DIMENSION A(1000000)
READ*, X
A = LOG(X)
PRINT*, A(500000)
END
$ /usr/lno/bin/gfortran -static -g -O2 -S -fscalar-evolutions -ftree-vectorize -maltivec vector.f95
vectorized 0 loops in function.
$ /usr/lno/bin/gfortran -v
Reading specs from /usr/lno/lib/gcc/powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu/3.5-tree-ssa-lno/specs
