No problem.  I've done my own testing, and I'm satisfied that the patch
is OK.

I understand that you have a personal objection to the GFDL.  However,
our policies clearly require that significant changes be documented in
the manual.  I think it is unwise for a global write maintainer to
arbitrarily decide that certain rules don't apply to him.

Thanks for the pointer to machmode.def.  I hadn't thought to look there
yet, but it is an obvious place for the info now that I've seen it.  It
is still no substitute for changes to the manual though.

Yup, this occurred to me later.  It hasn't been much of a problem for
BImode so far since it is only used in extremely limited circumstances
currently, but this patch should make it more useful.
