Hmmm I thought pretty much everyone agreed that it should
happen. The only questions are when and how.
Actually, I think everyone agreed that the C front end should move to its
own directory. Just the introduction of an extra fe/ directory layer got
opposition, especially since no one answered the questions regarding what
kind of files should live in this directory.
