Wait a week to let other people complain.  If there are no complaints,
go ahead.
Wind River uses -fvolatile extensively, although I believe entirely
out of superstition.  Given that the options do not work, I would
certainly prefer "remove this dubious feature" to "make them work
again."
That was my thought -- if they haven't worked since 3.0.4, and nobody's
screaming, they can't be very useful.  But I'm not the most clued-in
person about what weird things people do at the margins with GCC and
its myriad options.
