I can't tell if this is an approval or not.  :-)

The concept behind the MPW Shell - integrated editor/command language,
very smalltalk - was nice and it might be interesting to forward-port
that to OSX; which can, of course, use the Unix-y pexecute().

I don't see any great value in keeping the classic MPW around though.
