Was this committed to the or the 3.0.1 branch?

Based on this, I'd support doing it on the 3.0.1 branch, too, since
it represents a regression from 2.95.2 that we picked up when we
fast-fixincluded UW7.
So if my approval/encouragement is enough, and you haven't already,
please do it for 3.0.1, too.
